Gloria's Favorite Books and Stuff

List of books I love and other note-taking things

¡Hola!

People frequently ask me for book recommendations and I always promise to publish a list. So, while rearranging my books, I decided it was a good time to finally do so!

These books are about medicine, translation, interpreting, language, and fun and interesting stuff related to all of the above. Some of these I have read and others are in my pending list. This is not a definite list as I will continue populating it. Also, it does not mean that you must buy all these books, but that I think they are useful and reliable.

And don’t forget that pre-owned books are amazing, too! I have several books I have purchased second hand and they are way cheaper than the latest edition. I do it for two good reasons: I am saving a book from a landfill and because I don’t think the human body changed from one edition to the next? Tee hee!

Oh, I have also added a list of useful stuff for note-taking

Science and languages are always changing, so please feel free to reach out to me at info@blueurpi.com if you find a broken link or have a resource that you would like added to the list.

Happy search!

Gloria

ps. For most books, I included a link to Amazon. There, you can find a book review (to learn more about it)  and ISBN (so you can buy a used edition and save one book from a landfill).
Psst… Just a little heads up! If you click a link around here and make a purchase, as an associate, I might earn a tiny commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you.

💻 Digital

  • ❤️ iPad Mini (6th gen): Love it because it fits in my lab coat pocket at work, it is very light, the battery lasts a long time, and it saves trees! https://amzn.to/4a2h67L
  • ❤️ Apple Pencil (2nd Generation): Smooth and never runs out of ink. The 1st generation is also good. I like this one because it attaches magnetically to the iPad, so I don't lose it as often as I did. https://amzn.to/48DAfMg
  • ❤️ Screen protector: I have a Paperlike 2.0 for iPad Mini 8.3" and makes it feel like I am writing on real paper. Whatever brand and model you choose, make sure it matches your iPad. Having a screen protector has saved me of replacing my screen many times. https://amzn.to/3VpzeEP
